At Glaminator Beauty Bar we believe that hard wax has ample benefits over soft wax, but the effectiveness of our custom blended hard wax is directly related to its quality. Glaminator's unique hard wax blend was created to be loved by all types of skin & hair. Our premium low melting point waxes are produced using a blend of high quality resins and nourishing essential oils. The final result is a quality hard wax that you just can't get enough of.
HERE'S WHY: 1.HARD WAX STICKS TO THE HAIR, NOT THE SKIN Unlike soft wax, which requires the use of cloth strips, our custom hard wax blend is the only material we need to get your skin silky smooth. It dries and shrink wraps itself around the your hair transforming into a flexible strip. The wax only attaches to the hair follicle and not your beloved skin. This creates an easy , more pain fee removal process. 2. HARD WAX HURTS LESS You now know our custom hard wax blend doesn’t stick to skin, making the removal process is considerably more comfortable. Instead of worrying about rashes, cuts, and irritation to your skin, you will only feel the actual removal of the hair. 3. HARD WAX DOESN'T DISTORT YOUR HAIR FOLLICLES Just like soft wax, hard wax removes the hair from the root, so it takes longer for the hair to grow back compared to shaving or other forms of hair removal. But, what's unique about using our custom hard wax blend is its ability to remove hair from any angle. With soft wax, if the esthetician pulls the wax off in the same direction as the hair growth, it can distort the hair follicle. But what happens if the hair doesn’t all grow in the same direction? At Glaminator Beauty Bar this isn’t a concern because the hair follicle can be removed from any angle with no risk of damage to the hair follicle or your skin. 4. HARD WAX IS MORE THOROUGH Finally, hard wax can be reapplied to the same area in the same waxing session. With soft wax, if a few hairs are missed, the esthetician will likely use tweezers to complete the process. When using hard wax, if there's a few stray hairs left behind a Glaminator will simply apply a thin layer to those areas and peel again with minimal pain and minimal plucking! Now, which is the best wax, hard wax or soft wax?
Waxing salons use different types of wax and the real difference lies within the quality. One type of wax does hurt less than another. I should mention we highly recommend going to a salon who puts their clients first. Unfortunately, some just care about how much money they spend on the wax, compared to the quality, safety and comfort of their customers. Here is a little information on the various types of wax used. Our goal is to keep our Glam Friends educated so they know we have their best interest at heart. Which kind of wax does Glaminator Beauty Bar use? Keep reading to find out! SOFT WAX Soft wax is applied to the skin in an extremely thin layer. It is very good for removing those finer hairs. After applying the wax it is then removed by placing a muslin strip on top of it and ripping it off. Soft wax adheres to the skin, meaning it removes layers of dead skin when it is being pulled off. This is why you cannot wax the same area twice with soft wax. The risk of lifting and pulling off live skin is greatly increased when this occurs. You may be left with results of bleeding, scarring and scabbing to the skin. With soft wax, there is the slight chance of being burned because the temperature needs to be higher in order to use the wax properly. The wax itself is very sticky so it can also be difficult to remove it all from the applied area. Many tend to think soft wax hurts a little bit more than hard wax because of this feeling. Soft wax is very popular within the waxing industry because a lot of wax doesn't have to be used on the area to get the job done. Soft wax also costs significantly less than hard wax which means the businesses have a higher profit margin. HARD WAX Hard wax (also known as strip-less wax) is applied to the skin and does not require a strip to be pulled off. Once the wax dries and hardens on its own, it can be removed directly since it does not have that "sticky" issue like soft wax. Hard wax adheres to the hair only, not the skin. This means the Esthetician can go over the same area multiple times without the risk of also lifting and pulling off the skin. The waxing session is known to be less painful since the wax is not tugging at the skin when it's being removed. Hard wax will solely pull out the hair resulting in a much more comfortable experience for the client. Hard wax requires a lower temperature to work properly which lessens the chance of a client being burned or feel any sort of pain. Depending on the area being waxed, more wax may have to be used meaning it may be more expensive for the business to use. However, isn’t a quality wax worth spending a little more money on compared to a cheap painful wax? We think so! Hard wax is especially great for sensitive areas like Brazilian waxing, bikini waxing, facial waxing and underarm waxing. At GBB, we use a custom blended hard wax. You will quickly see why everyone that has been Glaminated loves our wax over the rest! We invest in premium, high quality hard wax because we want to ensure our Glam Friends have the best experience when they come in for an appointment. Stemming from experience, our own guests here at Glaminator Beauty Bar are more actively self-educating. They are checking labels for ingredients, watching videos and becoming curious about clean beauty, which often involves using ingredients that you might find on your plate rather than synthetically made in a lab. All you should want to do is show off your beautiful healthy skin. Here’s what you can expect to see more of in the future: 1. Clean Beauty, for Better or Worse, is Sticking Around Clean beauty is a vague term. Anything with organic or natural ingredients can be marketed as “clean,” but the problem is that none of those terms are regulated. “Organic” can mean multiple things, but typically, it means no pesticides were used or that most of the ingredients were grown organically. 2. Sustainable, or Green, Beauty will Remain on Trend The green, or sustainable, beauty trend, also called eco-beauty, is part of a larger life philosophy, an approach to self-care that emphasizes not being so engrossed in the mirror that you kick the earth to the curb. “Sustainability is a very positive movement from beauty to fashion and beyond. The term green beauty has taken on many meanings, but the most common ideal is a complete avoidance or minimization of synthetic preservatives and synthetic fragrance. Green beauty isn’t just about the ingredients in your skin care — it’s also about the packaging. An increasing number of beauty companies are transitioning packaging away from single-use plastics, for instance, and creating recyclable containers. 3. Skin Care will Get Even More Personalized, Thanks to Technology Technology will make it easier to deliver more personalized product formulas. For now, though, the customization is generally limited to quizzes, which can help identify your profile and skincare preferences. While these approaches to customized skin care are still fairly basic, DNA testing and AI are becoming more frequently used. Many at-home beauty devices, for example, use apps to diagnose skin issues and educate users on their skin type, which, eliminates the user error and misdiagnosis that can occur in other personalization profile quizzes. Until tech is mastered, your individualized skin-care regimen can be achieved from a consultation with a board-certified dermatologist who can examine your skin and discuss your goals and challenges.
