6 Eyelash Myths Busted!

1/29/2020

Picture
There are a lot of myths out there about eyelash extensions.

From it being a painful process to the notion that your natural lashes will all fall out and cease to grow back ever again. As your trusted beauty experts we are here to try to set the record straight. We offer both lash extensions and lift and tint services so we see the process ourselves.
If you have ever considered getting them done, read on!

MYTH #1: Your eyelashes will fall out

Honestly, your eyelashes fall out anyways. Most times you just don’t realize it because they’re small and fine, but our natural lashes fall out every four to six weeks just like the hairs on our head. Eyelash extensions only get a bad reputation because it’s more noticeable to spot natural eyelashes that have shed when they’re glued to long, thick, synthetic, and solid black fibers, and many don’t realize the process is normal and not a result of extensions.

Myth #2: Your eyelashes will never grow back
Your eyelashes will, in fact, grow back. How? Because of the lash shedding cycle, new natural eyelashes are always growing in, that's why you get "fills.” If new eyelashes weren’t always growing back, there would be nothing to fill. So, if eyelash extensions really made your eyelashes stop growing, refills wouldn’t even be possible, because there has to be a natural lash for the extension to adhere to.

Myth #3: Eyelash extensions hurt
Take it from Glaminators who have gotten them done several times: Nothing about the process hurts! It’s not a matter of tolerance levels; there simply is no pain involved in the eyelash extension process. If you are worried about someone using tweezers close to your eyes, you might feel anxiety, but pain is not part of the process.

Myth #4: If you stop extensions your lashes will be thinner or shorter

Getting eyelash extensions does not affect the natural growth cycle during or after you decide to stop getting them applied. Many feel that their natural lashes get thinner or shorter afterwards, but it's likely not the case. You get trained and used to waking up every day with thicker, dark, curled, longer lashes so, understandably, you think your eyelashes are thinner and shorter after the extensions have ended. In actuality, that is not the case and getting extensions has no chemical effect on the thickness or length of the lashes you were born with. Just like it was something you had to get used to when you first had them applied you'll also have to get used to not having them on again. That, or keep your extensions appointments.

Myth #5: You must occasionally take breaks

Many think that you have to take breaks from getting extensions in order to let your natural lashes breathe or redevelop. The idea that it’s not good to get repeated extensions because your eyelashes need breathing room is a mere myth. Your eyelashes wouldn't know that extensions are being applied to them, and they continue to shed off like normal, and a new natural lash will grow back, But it is completely up to you whether or not you wish to take a break. The only recommendation is to have your lashes applied by eye lash professionals.

Myth #6: They take forever to be applied
That depends on your definition of "forever." It
can take forever if the lash  technician you’re seeing is just starting out or is inexperienced and untrained. But eyelash professionals who fully specialize in eyelash extensions can perform a full set in just an hour.

It is no surprise that most of the people we know would like for their skin to look better. Several things can impact the condition of your skin such as diet, hormones, and of course the products that you use on your skin daily. This is why it is necessary to use only the best kind of skin care products for you to ensure your skin is always clear and radiant.

Glaminator Beauty's sugar scrub is proud to offer an organic formula that harnesses the powers of raw cane sugar, emu oil, and coconut oil to gently exfoliate and rejuvenate your skin. It's a  lightweight and whipped scrub that penetrates deeply to leave your skin smooth, hydrated and clean. This scrub is perfect for anyone who is in need of a little extra TLC for their face, hands, and entire body. We know the benefits of using organic sugar scrubs on the skin, so we put together some of the top benefits for you to see what our organic sugar scrub can do for you.

EXFOLIATION
Arguably the most significant benefit of using organic sugar scrubs, the exfoliation that sugar scrubs bring to your skin can be astonishing. The raw cane sugar in our organic sugar scrub acts as an exfoliate which helps to clear the skin of any dead cells or buildup that can accumulate over time. Once you have exfoliated your skin will look and feel better.

IMPROVES LOOK AND FEEL
Using organic sugar scrubs can help improve the look and feel of your skin. The exfoliation process previously mentioned does wonders for removing harmful buildup on your skin. This process leaves a fresh layer of smoother skin behind which can help your skin look and feel more radiant.

REJUVENATION
Organic sugar scrubs can help rejuvenate skin by promoting the regrowth of healthy skin cells. The organic products like coconut oil, emu oil, other essential oils, and vitamins all combine with raw cane sugar sugar to rejuvenate your skin and improve the overall quality of your skin.

These are just a few of the many benefits associated with the use of organic sugar scrubs. Glaminator Beauty is proud to offer an organic sugar scrub that is perfect for your entire body.

What you should know about Brow Henna

1/13/2020

Picture
In today’s beauty world, bold brows are a must-have for many. There are various roads you can take to achieve the perfect brow. Are you looking for something that will spare you from having to draw your brows every morning, but aren’t ready to commit to microblading yet? Our Elleebana Brow Henna is the perfect solution! Keep reading to find out the inside scoop on our Elleebana Brow Henna and why it is the perfect new service for you to take advantage of.

What is Brow Henna?

Brow Henna is a form of tinting the eyebrows with a natural dye that stains the skin. The effect lasts 4-6 weeks for most who receive it. Brow henna is the perfect way to achieve a bolder, thicker brow

How is Elleebana Brow Henna Different From Others?

With a plethora of henna brows to choose from on the market, it can be hard to decide which one you should trust your brows to. In order to understand the difference between the products that are available to you, it is important that you understand the different types of henna that are used. What is henna? Henna is a plant that is used to make dye. It has been used for years to decorate the body. Henna in its original state takes many hours to oxidize and will only stain in shades of burgundy and red. Henna-based products in combination with other herbs can stain shades of yellow, brown and dark brown but still require hours of waiting.

Different Kinds of Henna
  • Powder Paints: Do not have a single gram of natural henna; Activated by drying the skin with hydrogen peroxide; Usually appears in 2-3 colors; Stains both the hair and the skin impermanently (maximum 3 days).
  • Gel henna, or paints: Ease of use caused them to dominate the cosmetics market; Gel paint is a convenient and easy-to-use product that perfectly colors the hair, but does not stay on the skin for more than 48 hours.
  • Powdered henna: Does not limit us to mapping only in the area where hair grows, but also where it is lacking; Based on an extract of plants; No need to use hydrogen peroxide or ammonia.

Which Henna Should You Use?

As new hennas hit the market, each new type tends to “one-up” the other. The longest-lasting and most time-efficient option to use on brows is powder henna. Powder henna can be used on anyone. It is perfect for people who have permanent makeup that will not be renewed, and for those who would like to achieve perfect temporary pigmentation of the skin and hair.

Why Do We Use Elleebana Brow Henna?

There is no shortage of companies producing powder henna for salons.
The Elleebana Brow Henna color range consists of 7 colors that can be freely combined and mixed – giving us the ability to custom create the perfect color for each you! One of the unique features of Elleebana brow henna, confirming the unique nature of the product, is the use of ingredients that strengthen the effects of action.

The “Not-So-Secret” Formula  contains a high amount of active herbs in its unique composition. It also contains herbal medicine to effectively stimulate hair to grow again. Due to its stimulating growth, it is especially recommended for people who want to rebuild their eyebrows or stimulate dormant hair follicles. Indian gooseberry extract, contained in Elleebana henna powder, contains necessary fatty acids that strengthen the hair follicles, while giving the hair smoothness, shine and beautiful appearance. This extract also contains vitamin C, which can stop premature graying. Indian gooseberry extract wonderfully conditions the hair, while reducing problems with flaking of the epidermis, thus preventing the natural effect of henna drying the skin.

Another reason we love it: t
he product is not tested on animals and has been classified as vegan.

Henna Eyebrow Shaping

At Glaminator Beauty Bar our ultimate goal is to create perfect eyebrows.
The first steps to eyebrow shaping are drawing and mapping the brows. The sketch must be precise and matched to the face shape and the position of the eyes. No less important is the color – Glaminator's must take into account not only color intensity but also the tone, so that it harmonizes with your type of beauty.

All these nuances make eyebrow shaping a procedure that is widely desired and ultimately most necessary. Today’s education and the involvement of your personal Glaminator means that you can leave our beauty salon with the eyebrows of your dreams – so get ready to walk straight out of the gram and into the real world.

7 Pre-Waxing Care Tips

1/6/2020

Picture
Over the last few of years many of our Glam Friends have consistently asked our Wax Glaminators questions regarding the wax procedures they perform. Some of the most common questions from our (clients) aka Glam Friends were related to pre-waxing care, so, let's discuss 7 of the most relevant pre-waxing care tips.

1. Exfoliate
Few people know how important exfoliation is for successful hair removal. Skin is always renewing its cells, but superficial old skin cells need some help to be removed. Dead skin cells keep skin dull and trap sprouting hairs (causing the dreaded in grown hairs).

Exfoliated skin will be smoother and more prepared to receive waxing, so we recommend to exfoliate the area you plan to get waxed 24 or 48 hours in advance. It's important to exfoliate in advance – because if you do it on the same day of the appointment, your skin will be recently sensitized by the exfoliation, which might be too much added to the waxing.
If you can make exfoliation a part of your daily skincare routine then you'll have even more skin benefits. Twice a week is a good place to start. We recommend a soft scrub to avoid irritation like our GBB Scrub.

2. Watch out for these
Skin medication: medication for acne must be discontinued at least three months prior to a waxing appointment. This medication can cause skin to over-exfoliate, increasing the risk of skin ripping or lifting.

Skin problems: if you suffer from acne, eczema, psoriasis or other skin issues, you should wait until you are in remission or avoid waxing altogether. Likewise, avoid waxing on scarred, irritated, injured or bruised skin.

3. Maintain your hygiene
Bathe or shower before the procedure if possible. Try not to use harsh soaps/body washes with a lot of fragrance or colorings – and no hot water! – before the procedure, to keep allergies or adverse reactions at bay.
When it comes to menstruation, it is advisable to book the appointment outside of period days. This is because menstruation makes you more sensitive to pain.

4. Wear loose clothing
Tight clothes in synthetic fabrics are a no-no for waxing appointments. Arrive as comfortable as possible in loose clothing to avoid chafing and irritation.

5. Avoid heat, saunas, and sun exposure
No saunas, hot tubs, tanning beds as it could irritate the skin, making waxing unpleasant or increasing the risk of skin lifting. If there is a sunburn on the area to be treated, then the depilation should be postponed until it has totally healed. Sun protection is important at all times, try to wear sunscreen post your waxing procedure.

6. Trimming is optional
No need to trim. It's best if you leave that job to us, and of course, completely forgo from shaving before your appointment!

7. Know what to expect
Upon arrival our Glaminators will walk you through the procedure that you've booked so and they'll also provide recommendations post your appointment.
